Hand Rejuvenation with Dermal Fillers

When it comes to anti-aging treatments the face is often the focus. However, as youthful and refreshed as your face may appear, your hands will often give your true age away. This is why hand rejuvenation is an ever popular procedure at Moradi M.D.

How can the hands be rejuvenated?

There are two major issues that must be addressed in hand rejuvenation: loss of volume, and skin tone and texture. These changes in the appearance of your hands occur over time and are due to exposure to sun and elements. Age related loss of subcutaneous fat and collagen also contribute. Dermal fillers such as Radiesse, Juvederm and Restylane can help restore volume to provide a firmer, fuller and more youthful look.

Upon evaluation Dr. Moradi will decide which dermal filler product is best suited to your individual needs. A topical numbing agent is applied before treatment, this will alleviate discomfort. The dermal filler is then placed into the hand using a series of small injections. Once sufficient material has been deposited, the hand is massaged to smooth the filler and  achieve the desired results.

On average dermal filler will last up to one year, however studies have shown that these injections can stimulate your bodies own natural collagen production,  creating fullness that will remain after the filler has been metabolized. Your hands will appear firmer, fuller and smoother. Protruding veins and tendons will become less obvious as this new fullness fills around them.

Laser treatments and light-based technologies are often used in combination with dermal fillers for hand rejuvenation. Photofacial (IPL/BBL) and fractional

resurfacing lasers such as Sciton Profractional can improve sun-damaged skin, remove age spots, and correct pigmentation. Laser  also improve skin tone and texture, while reducing the signs of aging on the hands.
