I don't take enough time to care for my skin. Like, at all. For a woman my age, it should be more of a concern regarding my beauty routine, and I think it's starting to show. Some of it could be the state of the world and the fact that I've spent a year interacting chiefly with people under age 6, but I look tired. And it's a bit dull. And no amount of distracting people with my hair is changing that.

So, when I tried a DiamondGlow facial the other day, I was all for it. And, frankly, I was right to be! Am I amazingly looking ten years younger? No. But do I look and feel better than when I walked in for my appointment? I sure do!

What is DiamondGlow Exactly?

The DiamondGlow facial, formerly known as Dermal Infusion, is a 3-in-1 system that exfoliates, extracts and infuses all at once. The diamond part of the DiamondGlow comes in with a diamond tip of select coarseness to exfoliate the skin and remove the outer layer of dead skin cells (the very ones making me look dull and yucky all the time). The idea of diamonds moving across my face sounded harsh and scratchy when I first thought about it, but it wasn't! It was explained to me as similar to the sensation of being licked by a cat and, you know what? Not inaccurate! That honestly is a good description of the success and the abrasiveness I felt. Not at all uncomfortable.

The diamond exfoliating tip is used in tandem with a closed-loop vacuum system that made me think of a wishbone. This wishbone-shaped wand is attached to an apparatus that supplies the serum to be infused and collects the extracted impurities. So not only do you feel the contaminants being sucked out of your pores, you can see it all contained in a jar (which they show you – I've been walking around with a ton of yuckiness in my pores for who knows how long!).

It pulls out the impurities and infuses the skin with a Skin Medica Pro-infusion Serum. Five serum options are available to fit your skincare concerns: Vitamin C, Pore Clarifying, Skin Brightening, Ultra Hydrating, and the signature TNS Advanced+. All of these serums are sulfate/sulphite-free, paraben-free, and fragrance-free and allow your provider to customize your treatment to you no matter what skin type you have.

The Results

My skin is typically relatively easy to care for, what you would define as "normal" skin, with exceptions for hormonal or stress-related acne. Of course, a year of wearing a mask has irritated it more than usual, and I've seen more than my share of flare-ups in the areas where the front and straps rub against my face. I've seen a few more fine lines around my eye area lately and several little splotchy regions with more redness than I'd like to show the world.

After cleansing and assessing my skin, we decided on the Ultra Hydrating serum. For about 45 minutes, I lay back and let them do their thing as they did three or four passes over my face and once over my neck with the wand. The process is gentle enough for them to do my eye area and lips. And when it was done, after I'd checked out the jar of grossness they pulled out of my pores, I dressed and checked myself in the mirror.

I was glowing! Dewy and glowing. It was amazing. I never burned (even when I was at that stage of pregnancy when a woman is supposed to be her most lovely – nothing), but I looked fantastic. My skin felt smooth fir, warm, and radiant. Plumper. Brighter.

They set me up with some tremendous post-facial products, told me to stay out of the sun, and sent me out into the world—no downtime, no post-facial irritation… just beautiful skin. I haven't felt that I looked this good without makeup in as long as I can remember. I even snapped a makeup-free selfie! (#nofilter) I remember thinking that, if I had a time machine, I would have scheduled a DiamondGlow facial on my wedding day or before my babies. I'll be planning one before our next set of family photos.

I'm intrigued by the idea of repeating the process. DiamondGlow works wonderfully as an event facial before a special occasion and provides continued improvement with repeated treatments. If one goes around could make me feel this good, imagine how I'd think after several? A single treatment can cost between $150-300, but the results justify the price. 100% worth it.
