CoolSculpting® is an effective, noninvasive alternative to liposuction and other surgical fat reduction procedures. The technique works by using a technology called Cryolipolysis™, which freezes the unwanted fat cells, allowing the body to naturally dispose of them through the waste and elimination process. Board-certified Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Amir Moradi offers CoolSculpting® at Moradi MD in San Diego, CA, and has seen great results in candidates who have chosen this method. CoolSculpting® body contouring is performed in our office by our licensed Aestheticians and our Certified Physician Assistants. Sometimes multiple sessions are recommended, however we are proud to offer patient treatments with two CoolSculpting machines during the same time. The ability to perform two treatments simultaneously will decrease your treatment time, and it allows for a more flexible schedule. Getting rid of unwanted fat is now even easier, and it can occur in half the time! To achieve optimal results, visible signs of fat reduction may appear after several months.
"Worth It - San Diego, CA - I have had two treatments on my upper abdomen. The second treatment was 2 weeks ago. I find the initial attachment hurts and then numbs due to the cold. It is uncomfortable when they remove the suction and it looks like a piece of salmon. Let them massage the area. The last two days have been sharp pains in the area. I remember this from the first time. It will go away, and I did not find it debilitating (much better than smartlipo!!-not recommended ever). Anyway, I know it is worth it. There was a definitive improvement the first time, but I wanted more. The upper 'shelf' of my abdomen is stubborn. I am a prime candidate for a full tummy-tuck, but due to money and lack of recovery time available to me, I am taking these short cuts. I think it is worth it and I muscle through the discomfort and drink lots of water. I find stretching helps. Remember, it is the fat cells dying off. Jane. "- N. / RealSelf / Mar 16, 2012
"I am so impressed with Dr. Moradi and his entire staff. I am always welcome and made to feel at home. He, and his team, are experts in beauty and wellness and I always feel like I am in good hands. I have had the Coolsculpting service as well as eyelash extension. I know that when I walk out of their office, compliments are coming my way. I live in South San Diego and Moradi and his staff are definitely worth the drive!"- B.O. / Yelp / Oct 23, 2012
During the Procedure
During a CoolSculpting® procedure, patients will not feel any pain but will feel a slight pressure in the areas being treated. The practitioner will place the cooling device on the area of the body where the fat is to be removed. The device pulls the fat pocket up between the cooling panels, where the freezing process will ensue. Treatment will last about 35 minutes on average, depending on the size of the area being treated. All CoolSculpting patients receive complimentary z wave massage on the area immediately after to help break down the fat faster. Following the procedure, patients can resume their normal day. You may experience some redness and tingling on the treated area, but this will subside quickly.
CoolSculpting® is safe for nearly all patients and can benefit almost anyone looking to reduce unwanted fat deposits. However, in order to achieve best results, candidates should meet certain criteria. First and foremost, it should be understood that CoolSculpting® is not a weight loss solution. While CoolSculpting® can successfully target and reduce limited areas of fat, it is not likely to be successful for patients who are more than 30 pounds over their ideal weight range. Instead, CoolSculpting® should be seen as a way to enhance body contours and address common problem areas, including the following:
